Facilitating a series of consumer co-design workshops to better understand how digital healthcare technology can meet their needs

The Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) is an Australian government agency with a mission to create a healthier future for Australians through connected healthcare.

The service offering:
Co-design & Facilitation

Maria facilitating the online workshops during COVID-19 pandemic

The problem:

The Community Relationships, Digital Inclusion and Community Engagement team conducted a series of co-design workshops with consumers, consumer peak organisations and advisors, to better understand the key themes and identify potential solutions regarding the use and acceptance of digital health technology.

Participants from diverse and vulnerable population groups were engaged to explore what could increase awareness of the benefits and the practicalities of Electronic Prescriptions and My Health Record to consumers and carers.

The outcome:

Iota designed and led the online co-design workshops.  These centred on co-design facilitation principles and identified short and long-term solutions - from the consumer perspective – for improving the uptake of My Health Record and Electronic Prescriptions. The outcomes from the workshops are now being used to inform workplans at ADHA as they work to ensure digital healthcare technology meets consumer needs.

“I love working with Maria. She has a really down to earth, engaging and inclusive style; she consistently comes into a project or activity with fresh eyes, a can-do attitude and an ability to see the big picture and identify a clear path forward. I highly recommend her services..”
