Building the capacity of regional NSW community organisations, neighbourhood centres and local councils


NCOSS (NSW Council of Social Services) is the community sector peak body in NSW. They were contracted by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice to provide capacity building support to organisations receiving funding within the Targeted Earlier Intervention Program (TEI).

Background:

NCOSS contracted Iota to support 30 community organisations working with diverse and vulnerable populations across NSW. These included neighbourhood centres, family support services, Aboriginal services, youth services, multicultural community services, and migrant and refugee resettlement services.

The outcome:

Iota worked with each organisation to increase their confidence, understanding and knowledge in program logic models, survey design, and to align their outcomes to the NSW Government Human Services Outcomes Framework.  

This included:

  • one-on-one mentoring support 

  • face-to-face training half and full day workshops; and

  • virtual brainstorming sessions.
